In 1990 after DCA championship the corps held its annual corps meeting/party in the hotel banquet room.
Mr. Drum Corps and Corps Director, Joe Verlezza had a few too many. Instead of urinating in the ment’s room, he decided that the hallway outside the banquet hall was close enough. When confronted by the security guard, who could have had him arrested on the spot, Joe exclaimed, “I’ll buy this hotel and knock it down.”
Thank God for Gary Williams, who took $50 “from Joe’s pocket” and gave it to the guard to “look the other way,” and not to look at the plant that Joe was watering in the hallway!!
